On Monday, Kyle was having some pain from his wisdom tooth on the bottom left side of his mouth. A little annoying but not too bad. He was really uncomfortable by that evening and had a hard time sleeping Monday night. Tuesday morning he was so miserable he couldn't even close his mouth all the way, was looking a little swollen and was having a hard time even swallowing. He stayed home from work Tuesday and our dentist prescribed him an antibiotic and some pain medicine. He called that day about getting his wisdom teeth out. (He has had the referral for over a year.) We heard that it usually takes quite a while to get a consultation, let alone have the surgery but fortunately there had been a cancellation and Kyle got in for a consultation on Thursday. At his consultation they scheduled him for surgery on Monday!
On Friday I went out to dinner with friends from South Union, Serra and Yessica. It was so good to see them and catch up! We are going to be sure to get together more often!
Saturday, we headed to Fort Dodge to go to Apple Fest at the Community Orchard in Fort Dodge. Mom and I went while the guys hung out at my grandparents' house. It was a great way to bring in October, my favorite month of the whole year! Caramel apples, kettle corn, apple cider, fun Halloween decorations and lots of pumpkins!
After Apple Fest, we all met for dinner at The Sports Page in Fort Dodge. Back at my grandparents' house we watched the Iowa State game and played Dirty Board. My grandparent's learned to play this game in Texas and brought it back to Iowa-pretty fun!
Here are some more photos from the weekend!

Sunday afternoon we headed to Dolliver State Park in Fort Dodge to meet my Aunt Kathy and her husband Brian for a picnic. There was also a classic car show going through the park and Dad drove his Cobra Mustang in the show. The park was so beautiful with all the fall colors-I took lots of pictures of the scenery. I wish it could be fall all year round!
We got a few good family shots too!
On our way home, we stopped by my good friend Liz's house for a visit. We let the dogs play together and we got to see Liz and Justin's house for the first time. It was great to see her-it had been too long!
Kyle had his surgery this morning! The Doctor said that it went well. It was pretty quick-only 30 minutes. He's doing pretty well-pretty groggy but says he feels ok. We'll just be sure to stay on top of the pain and swelling and hopefully he'll have a speedy recovery!
Have a great week everyone!
