Superbowl Weekend

Kyle has been in his new position for a whole week now!  In that week he got lunch from Jimmy Johns courtesy of his manager and a pizza/food day lunch the next day.  He says his new building is really nice but huge!  He can get Starbucks coffee inside the building too!  His hours have shifted a little so he's working 8-5 instead of 7:30-4 and he also takes an hour lunch instead of half an hour.  It's amazing what that hour difference makes in the evening...seems like his evenings are a lot shorter now!  It will just take some adjusting.

On Friday Serra and Yessica came over for some crafting!  We made coasters using ceramic tiles and decorative napkins and we got started on a Valentine's themed tie wreath.  We really wanted to make heart shaped wreaths but I guess a lot of other people did too because all the craft stores around here were out, so we had to settle for plain old round wreaths.  We had a really great time hanging out and getting crafty-even if we did get a little over-ambitious for one evening!

On Saturday we woke up to this beautiful sight outside our windows!

We debated back and forth about braving the roads for Ryan's birthday party but decided we were ready to get out of the house and we're glad we did!  It was great to see some friends we haven't seen for a while and we had a blast!  Plus...the roads weren't bad after all!

The ladies!

After a fun few days with friends, we weren't done!  We had friends over for the Superbowl game on Sunday.  The LeMars gang came over and everyone brought some yummy snacks to share and we lounged in our sweats and watched the Giants and the Patriots fight it out.  I didn't have a very strong opinion about who won but it's fun to watch the commercials.  My favorites were the Doritos commercial with the bribing dog, the Saint Bernard who wanted to lose weight to chase the Volkswagon and the Budweiser commercial that showed Budweiser through the years.  The halftime show was pretty cool too!  I was surprised that it was Madonna's first Superbowl performance.  Plus, I loved Miranda and Blake singing the national anthem and Miranda's pink microphone :)  I'm such a girl about watching the Superbowl :p  When the Bears go, it will be a totally different story!!
